Poetic and hypnotic, the videos of Mauro Santini are a dive into an evanescent and melancholy world. Indistinct images which shiver, double, slowly split from each other. The movement of the camera is sometimes imperceptible. The fragmentation of gesture, of the play of colour - at first vivid then faded - form strange, languid dreams.
From far away, images arrive of a past that is almost forgotten or that is from so long ago that it doesn't belong to us anymore, of unknown places or of a time that is yet to come, revealing itself to the tired eyes of sleepy travelers. A man, a woman, perhaps a goodbye... or just a seal and a penguin that playfully chase each other. Their sounds become voices which speak with words that seem to not exist anymore and which hide and play and blow on our necks and sometimes reveal themselves behind the windows, in a reflection.
