Esoteria! - Hysteria! is a self reflexive and humorous critique on travel, post cards and touristic mysticism. What starts like a pleasant Thomas Cook holiday taking us into some aspects of quotidian India, gradually becomes somewhat ominous. The camera jump cuts, film speeds change, colour, destruction, regeneration and chaos provides the perfect environmental conditions for the metaphorical appearance of the deity kali - played by Naseem Khan - as she wags a disapproving finger and reveals some of the post-colonial ironies, paranoiac revelations and presents them to the camera as the does and don'ts of tourism.
