Janet Jackson with her song “Got ‘Til It’s Gone” claims her grief after losing a person’s love and realizing its importance later on. Accompanied by her colleague Q-Tip, she asked for a second chance and shared a life lesson with us.
Through a purely formal experience, both sonic and visual, the loss of senses interested me to better assert the need to be reassured by any kind of reconstruction. What to hold onto at these times? Isn’t it at these moments that we realize how our standards lock us in and reassure us, at the same time? A kind of illustration of a deficit that could operate beyond a romantic relationship?
