The fall, the loss of control are central to Bas Jan Ader's work which mainly consists of photographs, short films and performances. His film I'm too sad to tell you shows the face of the artist being drawn by sadness. Ader fails to control his emotions and bursts out in sobs, after which he tries to wipe away the tears with his hand. There is no camera movement and no background in the film, whereby any trace of anecdote except for the action vanishes.
