Three patterns animate and give a rhythm to the film: the Samouraï (the mind through the body, the energy), the lotus (the quest), and the child’s look over it all (the ethics). The Samouraï represents the chivalrous spirit, the solitary and fighting commitment driven by an ethical code. Thought, soul or mind looking for perfection are physically expressed through a move, an action. The Samouraï’s precision goes through his sword serving for a cause. We fight, we act with all our body, all our desire. No matter whether we use the samouraï’s sword or the painter’s brush… a weapon to each, but always fight. Technique: hybridization of VHS video images taken from asiatic films re-shot in Super-8 (re-framing, movements) and reworked in DV (editing, changes in speed, double exposure, colourimetry: changes in tone and color in DV sequences…)
