This Time Baguette

2012, UK, 16mm, b/w, sound, 4 min.

In this film someone is having lunch in a park, but with an absurdist twist, the action depicted metaphorically illustrates the interiority of communication, amongst the 'urgent' urban babble, and at the same time the protagonist is attempting to control seemingly directionless movement through palpable space. As the film rolls on we are drawn into the rhythmical motion of circularity. We are reminded of our own repetitive routines and frustrations and at the same time recognize the need for expressive social interactive articulation, rejecting imposed muteness... a new language?
